How do you choose your colours and their level of saturation?
Edgar: I do it instinctively. And i try to be as clear as possible and not over saturate the scenes with colors. The pages (or covers) must read clearly and not distract. Randy Stradley at Dark Horse once told me that when you finish a page or cover, nail it to the wall, walk to the other side of the room and look at it; if you can figure it out whats going on by looking it from that distance, then it works. If not, try again. And he is right.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Edgar: I work on a macbook pro and a Cintiq. And use Photoshop CS4. All of that is just because I’m spoiled, you can work with whatever suits your needs really.
What do you thing is the minimum someone needs to start working as a colourist?
Edgar: The minimum is experience… not in the professional field but in the practice field. You cant just start to work if you decided to color yesterday. You need some time mastering it.
