What’s that, you say? February is when television networks get a little lazy, because everything is in midseason and moving along quietly apart from the Superbowl? Hardly; here are five shows that you might want to tune into as they make their (re)appearances this month.

The River
Chances are, if you’ve been watching any ABC (or streaming any content through the ABC website or app) recently, you’ve seen trailers for this new supernatural drama but still have no idea what it’s about. Co-created by Oren Peli (creator of Paranormal Activity), with Steven Spielberg onboard as executive producer, this eight episode series follows attempts to find scientist and television personality Emmet Cole, who disappeared six months earlier in the Amazon, under (of course) mysterious circumstances. The new Lost or another Persons Unknown? Tune in and find out for yourself. (Feb 7, 9pm on ABC)

The Walking Dead
Oh, do I really need to say anything here? It’s the second half of the second season of the show that chances are, you’re already watching and eagerly awaiting the return of. For wonks like me, it’ll be worth watching for any signs of Frank Darabont’s departure, as this batch of episodes are the first (story-)broken after he left the series. (Feb 12, 9pm on AMC)

Comic Book Men
A reality show set in a comic book store…? The potential for disaster for this “show for Fanboys by Fanboys” is only increased by the fact that it comes from the mind of Kevin Smith and has already courted controversy for its gender-biased title and apparent lack of women in the core cast, but I’ll admit a weird compulsion to check it out, if only for the need to offer devotion to Bryan Johnson’s beard (Oh, okay; the curiosity to see if it turns into car-crash television is a factor, too, even if I suspect it’ll end up closer to a geek Ace of Cakes than anything else). (Feb 12, 10pm on AMC)

Eastbound & Down
The long-awaited third (and final) season of HBO’s comedy sees Kenny Powers joining the Myrtle Beach Mermen for one last chance at making it to the Majors. Somehow, I’m not expecting things to work out for him, although it is the final season, so who knows what Danny McBride, Ben Best et al have in store? Could Kenny really be about to get a happy ending…? (Feb 19, 10pm on HBO)

Tight Bros
Finally premiering more than a year after its originally-announced debut date, this new Adult Swim show from Beavis and Butthead (and, curiously, How I Met Your Mother) veterans Sam Johnson and Chris Marcil is best described using the official network blurb: “Vince and Aaron were called by God to spread a holy message: one of peace, love and tearin’ up the club. By day, the two sell religious kitsch at a kiosk in Viceroy Del Sol mall. By night, they hunt for babes, but only with mega tans and super smooth waxes in place.” Seriously, how could you resist? (Feb 20, 12am on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim)

J.J. Abrams to start a "Revolution"

Entertainment Weekly reports that the intrepid producer/director/writer of all things sci-fi has just sold a pilot to NBC entitled Revolution. The more detailed of the series' loglines read as such: "In this epic adventure thriller, a family struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology — computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights — has mysteriously blacked out… forever.”

Се чини и Џеј Џеј ќе го фаќа пост-апокалиптичниот воз. Синопсисов звучи ко Falling Skies без ванземаљци, но би требало да биде малку по-хардкор од неа (а и баеѓи помистериозна), барем според досегашното мое искуство со сериите каде Абрамс е креатор. Малку ме секира тоа што ќе биде на NBC, бидејќи се апла најслабата телевизија во Америка, но од друга страна, гледајќи како немаат што да изгубат, може ќе си дозволат да ризикуваат со позабегани моменти (ко FOX со Fringe), which is always welcome...

Back To You - Se sluci nesto cudno. Actually pcuev po amerikanskine kopilinja sto ukinale vakva serija. EDNA OD NAJDOBRITE SITCOMI STO SUM GI GLEDAL! vtorata epizoda definitivno ide u top 10 nekad izvadeni epizodi na televizija. Se ubiv od smeenje. ODLICEN CASTING, ODLICNA HEMIJA, ODLICNI LIKOVI, ODLICNA ATMOSFERA...what the fuck went wrong? ne mi e jasno..fenomenalna serija sto se gleda in a heartbeat. Kelsey Grammer VLADEE! 10/10

ЕДИТ: Гик, за муабетот за Лиз и петта сезона: си ја направил единствената грешка која може да се направи кога е во прашање серијава - си сфатил нешто озбилно, или си го протумачил како такво, без разлика колку ситно или неситно. Целиот пристап на серијава е ништо да не се сфаќа озбилно (ни тие самите не се сфаќаат озбилно), што всушност е “нештото“ што ја двои од останатите комедии/ситкоми - буквално сите моменти се комедија, дури и оние кои навидум изгледаат драматично (ко тие во авионот).
